    They actually can, in certain cases, as long as they’re involved with the military in some way.

    For example, receiving any kind of healthcare/health insurance, even after dismissal, through the branch that employed you, would qualify you to be tried in a court martial.

    There’s actually a bunch of funky, convoluted ways how a court martial can be achieved on ex-military members.
