The Oval Office may seem like the last place that needs a sign. It is the most famous room in the world. The name helpfully highlights its key distinguishing feature. There shouldn’t be any randos wandering the White House grounds unescorted. And if there are, you don’t want a sign that says “Hey, the president is in here!”

But photos taken on Wednesday revealed that Donald Trump soothed his (very warranted) Election Day jitters by hanging a sign that says “The Oval Office” in giant gold letters just outside the door to the “room where it happens.”

As you can see, the sign is currently just three sheets of printer paper taped to the wall. But don’t get your hopes up about Trump rethinking his plans to add some “Live, Laugh, Love”–style lettering to the walls of the People’s House.

In late September, Trump tested out a similar sign as he was mapping out his “Presidential Walk of Fame” along the West Colonnade:

A few days later he unveiled the finished product, which turned out to be an elaborate effort to troll Joe Biden by depicting him as an autopen. The only good thing you could say about the installation was that Trump had dropped the hideous sign:

But photos from Sunday show Trump has quietly added even more tacky flourishes, including weird golden embellishments and a permanent version of the “Wall of Fame” sign:

After photos of the sign emerged on Wednesday, Trump was widely mocked online for needing help so he doesn’t get lost during the so-called “45-second commute” from the residence. To be sure, if Biden put up the same sign, Trump himself would have torn into him for not knowing where he is. And there are a lot of questions about Trump’s health that the White House has refused to answer.

In Trump’s defense, if you picture the Oval Office looking something like this:

This room is almost unrecognizable:

Still, the likeliest explanation is that Trump thinks labeling the fancy rooms he occupies makes him look even more impressive, and he likes to mark his territory. At least he’s sticking to the walls, for now, rather than making everyone in his administration get matching Trump face tattoos.
