The DNC strategy still seems like do nothing until the voters get fed up with Trump, then when back in power, also do nothing to materially change the circumstances that causes them to lose to a demagogue like Trump in the first place.
Mamdani and Newsome are outliers. Mamdani is an actual progressive the DNC will cheat and lie to ensure never he makes it anywhere further than he is and Newsome is in control of a state that could be it’s own nation, thus can afford to be more combatant. Dude still sucks on a lotta issues, but the DNC is gonna push him as their nominee as they have no one else.
