As part of the Collective Directorate of the National Movement in Defense of the 4th Transformation “Voices of the People”, made up of militants and founders of Morena loyal to the original values and principles of the Fourth Transformation, I want to share in this journalistic space that we have prepared a document called Petition of the Voices of the People, addressed to President Claudia Sheinbaum, the National Consultative Council and the People of Mexico.
This document, supported by an explanatory file that expands upon and details its content, presents eight urgent demands structured around two main axes: actions to strengthen the ethical foundations of Morena and its allied parties, and strategic actions for this second-floor government of the transformation. Our argument is that to improve and continue building upon the current project, the implementation of certain public policies that we consider urgently necessary is essential.
I. Morena’s Internal Regeneration
The first part of the document suggests actions that contribute to the improvement of decisions within the party, so that it continues to be a political and electoral instrument with clarity in its principles, transparency, and internal democracy.
Mandatory ethical filters: Implement an Ethical Evaluation Protocol for the selection of pre-candidates, complemented by background checks, values tests and interviews with specialists.Selection by merit, not by surveys: Replace the survey method with People’s Lists of Pre-Candidates, integrated through a technical process and validated by an independent citizens’ committee.End internal censorship: Repeal as soon as possible the guideline that censors public criticism from members, considering it a betrayal of the critical and democratic spirit of the movement.Renewal of the Training Institute (INFP): Renew the leadership of the National Institute of Political Training and refound it to turn it into a true breeding ground for cadres prepared for social mobilization, popular representation and governance.Investigation of corruption cases: Require the national leadership to formally investigate the 100 cases of alleged corruption within the Morena party reported in the media and social networks, applying exemplary sanctions where appropriate.
II. Strategic Government Actions
The second part focuses on providing the government with the necessary tools to improve communication between rulers and the ruled , and to combat corruption and insecurity.
A Superior Audit Office at the Service of the People: Appoint Muna Dora Buchain as head of the ASF and reorient its functions towards a preventive, proactive and real-time audit model, far removed from partisan pacts.Tax Reform as a Security Policy: Approve a progressive tax reform to finance the State’s capacity to combat organized crime, strengthening the UIF, FGR and security institutions, and investing in vulnerable communities.A New Communication System: Renew the management of the Public Broadcasting System and create a National System of Public Media with collective management, also redirecting the official budget to reach at least 20-30% of the national audience.
Conclusion: An Indivisible Whole
These eight demands form an indivisible package that represents a roadmap for strengthening Morena’s ethical foundations and equipping the government with the tools necessary for its historic mission. We intend to be active participants and vigilant monitors of their implementation.
