The video of my Saturday livestream is here: Sat. livestream 11/15 - by Robert B. Hubbell

I am including in today’s edition an interview I hosted with Steve Pierson, the Executive Director of Blue Wave California, a PAC dedicated to electing Democrats to the House in California’s “frontline” districts in 2026. The interview is below.

The interview with Steve Pierson is the first in a series of posts designed to answer the most frequent question I receive from readers: What is the best way to make political donations in 2026 and 2028?

The truth is that there is no “one size fits all” answer. As a party, Democrats must donate to strategic races in Congress, state legislatures, and local elections. We must also ensure that Democrats in every race—including ruby red districts—have enough money to run a credible campaign.

So, is donating to PACs like Blue Wave California the best way to donate? Not necessarily, but it is one good way to do so for people who are most interested in flippable seats. Over the next several months, I will feature a variety of organizations that offer different ways to donate. I will focus on organizations that are friends of the newsletter.

I hope you find the interview informative and interesting! (P.S.—we recorded this before Halloween, but news events overtook my planned publication schedule. My office is not normally covered in spiderwebs.)
