ABSTRACT
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease with a high incidence worldwide and exclusive drug treatment has a limited effect. To investigate the effects of a ketogenic diet combined with dulaglutide on glucose and lipid metabolism in diabetic patients, a total of 104 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were randomly divided into a study group (dulaglutide + ketogenic diet) and a control group (dulaglutide). The results showed that, in comparison with the control group, the blood glucose and blood lipid levels in the study group were lower than those in the control group after treatment (P<0.05). The insulin resistance index of the study group was decreased and the insulin sensitivity index was increased (P<0.05). At the 6-month follow-up, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index score was lower and the quality of life was better in the study group (P<0.05). In conclusion, thevketogenic diet combined with dulaglutide can effectively improve glucose and lipid metabolism, insulin function and quality of life in diabetes mellitus patients.
