Mexico. The Chinese embassy announced yesterday the opening of the Chinese government’s scholarship program for the 2026-2027 academic year, whose registration platform became available on Monday.

The diplomatic mission reported that interested Mexicans who meet the requirements can submit their application through the procedure established by the Mexican Agency for International Cooperation for Development (Amexcid).

Registration must be completed online no later than 1 p.m. on January 16.

The program offers scholarships in six categories: one year of Chinese language studies, bachelor’s degrees, specializations, master’s degrees, doctoral degrees, and research stays. Instruction will be in person at higher education institutions in China, and scholarships last from one to four years, depending on the academic level.

All Paid

Benefits include tuition and fees, a monthly stipend, accommodation in university residences or an equivalent allowance, and health insurance. Continued participation in the program is subject to academic evaluations.

The announcement emphasizes that only complete applications submitted within the deadline will be considered. The final decision will be made by the Chinese government and is not subject to appeal.
