The Global Solidarity for Peace in Palestine coalition hosted an online presentation about the International Campaign to Free Marwan Barghouti. The campaign was launched in 2013 from the cell where Nelson Mandela had been confined, in Robben Island, South Africa. Advocates for Marwan’s release believe he can have a unifying effect among numerous groups of people.

Speakers included:

Fadwa Barghouti, spouse of Marwan Barghouti Arab Barghouti, son of Marwan Barghouti, Free Barghouti Campaign Moharram Barghouthi, founder of Barghouti Campaign

Marwan Barghouti has been unjustly imprisoned by Israel for over two decades, convicted in a trial by a court he did not recognise. Yet he remains Palestine’s most popular leader, a unifying voice for Palestinian rights, freedom and dignity — often called Palestine’s Nelson Mandela. Global Solidarity for Peace in Palestine (GSPP) is a coalition of organizations from around the world committed to defending the rights of Palestinians and ending the occupation. Our movement is built on the principles of justice, human dignity, and respect for international law.
