They know what’s actually popular and they’re happy to pretend to get votes and money.

They keep calling out “woke” causes, but I don’t think that’s what’s happening.

If the politicians would just not be shitty while not show boating it around like it was some huge thing so they can get brownie points, I think centrists (and not Nazis calling themselves centrists) and left leaning people would either notice and like it, or ignore it.
