Europe should find some incentive to be more assertive and even aggressive in response to Vance’s obnoxious references to Europe’s “erasure” of its civilization and his appeals to Europe’s dangerous neo-fascist parties.  Trump added his own abuse, calling the European leaders “weak,” and obnoxiously stating that NATO’s members now call him “daddy.” One of the sad aspects of the NSS is that it treats the European Union as a bigger threat to the United States than either Russia or China.  Trump, who makes no sense on any of these matters, believes that the EU was formed to “screw” the United States.  More stupidity.
