Hi, all, and happy Wednesday!
There’s no full newsletter today but I did want to send out two worthy items:
Give 💰!
Earlier this year the Trump administration canceled more than 600 USDA grants, hundreds of which benefited farmers and organizations that work to strengthen rural communities, address food insecurity, advance sustainable agriculture, and more. Earthjustice was the organization that sued to get those grants restored– and won!
And that was far from their only win. I’m telling you—I’ve been reading up on Earthjustice’s 2025 victories, and they’re incredible.
They successfully blocked the Trump administration from illegally opening one of the world’s most pristine tropical marine environments to commercial fishing.
They got the Department of Agriculture to restore critical information about climate change that it purged from its websites.
They forced Tyson Foods to stop making climate claims that weren’t true.
And of course they got a judge to shut down DeSantis’s horrific detention center in the Everglades. It’s been allowed to reopen pending an appeal, but the folks at Earthjustice are still working to make that shutdown permanent.
They’re an amazing organization, and I really believe in the work they’re doing. If you care about our planet and you’re looking for a place to make an end-of-year donation, please consider Earthjustice. The courts are one place we can win against the Trump administration, and they, after all, are the Earth’s lawyers! If you can, please give by December 31, and your donation will be matched to double your impact. Again, you can give here.
Watch This!
My interview with political strategist Alyssa Cass on Monday gave me so much hope! This National Popular Vote Interstate Compact thing could actually work! I really recommend watching the conversation and then going to this website to find out how to help. WE CAN DO THIS! Just imagine a country that didn’t choose its leaders via seven states!
