Yesterday, I sent two photos. The photo of the comet was universally understood, but many readers were puzzled by the photo of cookies and a carrot.

In many families with young children expecting a visit from Santa Claus, the parents set out a plate of cookies (for Santa) and carrots (for the reindeer). The fact that the cookies and carrot have been nibbled is considered proof (by some) that Santa really did leave the presents under the tree.
