Hey, everyone!
I didn’t intend to do a newsletter today but I am because a) I wanted to share a video that I think may help you, b) there’s an event coming up before I’ll post tomorrow that some of you may like, and c) I’ve got another place to give in Minnesota if you can.
First, the event:
According to the Environmental Voter Project’s latest report, Gray is the New Green: The Growing Strength of Older Climate Voters, Americans aged 65+ now make up the single largest percentage of climate-first voters.
This Thursday, January 15th from 12-1pm ET / 9-10am PT, join EVP’s Executive Director, Nathaniel Stinnett, and a panel of experts for a discussion on organizing these older climate voters. Panelists Sharon Lavigne of RISE St. James, John Sorensen of Elders Action Network, Melanie Griffin of Third Act, and Judy Loeb of We the Seniors bring decades of organizing experience to the conversation, so you won’t want to miss this opportunity.
Now the donation link: I’m being told that another good place to give in MN right now is 50501 Minnesota. I am in touch with one of the organizers and they assure me that all donations are being used to help community members respond to ICE attacks. You can donate here via either Paypal or Venmo.
Finally if you haven’t yet seen this Heather Cox Richardson video from yesterday you should watch it. It’s very heartening.
On that note I’ll be back tomorrow with a regular email. Love you folks!
Jess
