Nothing the Democrats do with appropriations is going to affect what ICE is doing right now.
If DHS has its funding frozen, do you think the Trump Admin is going to furlough ICE? Fuck no. They didn’t during the last shutdown either. What Trump would more likely do is something like shutter the TSA, canceling all domestic air travel, and blame it on Democrats.
If the Democrats had real leverage here, they should absolutely stop ICE funding, but they don’t have that leverage right now. What they need to be doing is speaking clearly and passionately about the atrocities being committed and call explicitly for the abolition of ICE, but unfortunately they still sound weak as hell as a party.
Ummm eat the rich asap anybody? Luigi Mangione had an 80% approval rating because most Americans thought his alleged actions were efficient… So… Yeah…

They are by definition no longer a Democrat. The people don’t want ICE in their neighborhood. They are free to go to the states that voted for this.
