    This headline is bullshit. That Trump and Senate Republicans agreed to remove DHS from the overall budget package is huge. In the past, they would have dared Democrats to shut down the government over ICE funding, now Republicans caved and are agreeing to fund the government totally separate from what happens to DHS.

    Agreeing to fund DHS for two more weeks to let negotiations play out is not folding. Wait to see what happens at the end of these two weeks

    The agreement includes advancing five spending bills and funding the Department of Homeland Security for two weeks as lawmakers negotiate changes to DHS and ICE.

    They weren’t challenging the five bills and putting limits on ICE is good, so a two week negotiation fir the last one is ok.

    They could shut down the government for two weeks or keep everyone paid. Honestly, the knee-jerk is understandable but also stupid sometimes. “Folded” is a stretch to begin with.
