As Democratic leaders coalesce behind reforms for Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents without demands for funding cuts, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) introduced legislation on Friday to slash the entirety of the GOP’s massive ICE budget increase and funnel the money toward undoing Medicaid cuts. The entire Democratic caucus, as well as two Republicans, voted “yes” for the amendment.

I suspect there is still no spine here. They see which way the wind is blowing and are trying to throw some crumbs to their constituents so they don’t get primaried. It’s a fairly safe move for the Party of Controlled Opposition; they get to look good on paper, and since the Republicans still fully control the government they’ll just veto it out later.
Yup, I love Bernie, but this is virtue signaling bullshit. Nothing will happen because every time their vote is needed for someone like passing a budget the fuckers cave.
