Charles Pevsner, taken from Rio Hurtado, Chile NGC 1398 is a barred spiral galaxy some 65 million light-years distant in Fornax. While it may appear to have a double ring structure, high-resolution imaging reveals the rings are tightly wound spiral arms. The imager used a 5-inch scope to take 19¾ hours of LRGB exposure.
