The US made it its business by an incursion and literally kidnapping its acting leader. Even before that it was supporting Machado, but that was offhand support and wishful thinking. There’s nothing wrong on it’s face for the US to have an opinion on that as much as North Korea, to condemn Maduro for the repression of Venezuelans but also condemning the way the US kidnapped him is not “talking out of both sides of the mouth”, as these are not mutually exclusive positions.
