Peter Mandelson has been arrested at his home in London on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
The former British ambassador to the US, who resigned from the Labour party earlier this month over his links to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, was led away from the property in Camden on Monday and taken to a police station to be interviewed.
The Met Police said in a statement: “Officers have arrested a 72-year-old man on suspicion of misconduct in public office.”
It added: This follows search warrants at two addresses in the Wiltshire and Camden areas.”
Police confirmed earlier this month that they had launched a criminal investigation into allegations of misconduct in public office.
