If they stop the whole thing, they give Trump a nice way out of his mess. He is actually too much a coward to attack, but he can’t run home with his tail between his legs because it would be too big a loss of face for his narcissic ego.

If the Dems stop the war from happening, Trump can and will happily point at the Democrats and blame them for everything and the kitchen sink.
