I was surprised to hear about the reservation system when it first rolled out. Months later we visited Red Rocks in Nevada and at the gate there were a steady stream of cars in front of us that were turned away (I’m guessing because all reservation slots were consumed for the day). We had a reservation and got inside. Its a beautiful park, but was pretty busy even with the reservations. Parking lots at various stops only accomidated a couple of dozen cars or fewer.
With unlimited daily visitors I could absolutely see a scenario where you would enter the park in your car and simply have nowhere to park forcing you to traverse the whole park from behind your windshield. Its not like there’s even any shoulders on the side of the roads in nearly all of the park.
I think it will probably be a pretty miserable experience with overcrowding without the reservation system.
