Skiing industry's biggest problem: Too many olds skiing, not enough young people. And somehow not global warming or the fact that it's expensive?

I skiid when I was young and a lift ticket was $30 and a season pass $200 (early 2000s). Tickets outpaced inflation and how would a young kid afford gear AND a ticket when renting a room in the suburbs is $1200/month.
