I’ve just read somewhere else that it was due to outdated intelligence…which doesn’t mean that it wasn’t AI that pressed the button

At the end of the day it’s because we chose to declare war on them. The fact we may or may not have had faulty intelligence or whatever other excuse gets pedaled doesn’t change the basic facts that we started a war needlessly and then 170 or more kids were killed in the course of that war.

Intelligence at least a decade old.

The school is up against a military base, and ~10 years ago that included the area the school occupied, until it was walled off, readied for civilian use, and turned into a school. Again, ~10 years ago.

That is glaring evidence that the intelligence used to vet, select, and fire upon that target was at least a decade old. Not only this, but that the mechanisms and methods typically used to ensure against an atrocity such as exactly what happened either were nonexistent or ignored.

The incident reflects the war at large: none of this needed to happen.

Edit: I’d also like to add that while AI was used to make this decision, it is at the utmost importance that we hold real people in charge accountable for this, and continue to do so, because that is a huge part of helping us all get out of this.
