He’s lost it years ago.

The problem with “colorful” characters like Trump - to put it politely - is that it’s hard to detect when the outrageous behavior isn’t their “normal” behavior but the dementia kicking in. Dementia is always a lot easier to spot in people who used to behave sanely, rationally and had regular life habits before the dementia.

But I’ve had to deal with my Dad’s dementia for years and I know the sign. And I’ll tell you: Trump is far down the slope. It’s just that people around him either can’t differentiate it from regular obnoxious Trumpiness, or refuse to admit it publicly to take advantage of the situation for their own benefit.
