Since the Trump administration reversed course last month on its promise to release more information about the late Jeffrey Epstein, the president has struggled to get Americans to move on from the fact that he maintained a decade-long friendship with the accused child sex-trafficker.

So far, some efforts by Donald Trump and his allies have backfired, like when House Republicans ended the last session to avoid voting on a measure to release the Epstein files — which made it seem like the president had something to hide. There are some signs the MAGA uproar over Epstein has largely subsided. But with a slow trickle of new Epstein-related details still emerging in the press, the attention on the Trump-Epstein connection isn’t going away.

On Wednesday night, top White House officials are meeting at Vice-President J.D. Vance’s residence to figure out how to handle the crisis, according to a report from CNN. Vance will meet with chief of staff Susie Wiles, Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. This team will reportedly decide whether to publish Blanche’s recent interview with convicted Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell. They will also discuss the idea of Blanche going on The Joe Rogan Experience to chat all things Epstein with the most popular podcast host in America.

For years, Rogan, a conspiracy theorist on pretty much everything, has been fascinated by the questions surrounding Epstein and his mysterious connections to the rich and powerful. Rogan has been locked in on the story in the past month, mentioning Epstein’s name 40-plus times in one episode and describing the administration’s decision not to release more information as a “line in the sand.”

Rogan’s producer did not respond to a request for comment. However, such an interview would likely involve a shift in tone compared with friendly episodes with other Trump administration figures like Vance and Patel, or Rogan’s episode with Trump himself last October, when the two spoke for three hours and the host did not bring up Epstein once.
