I was flying to big island to scout for more space to expand my current vanilla farm when the storm starting the 19th rolled in. Luckily I’m not on north shore Oahu, but I know some farmers out that way, some lost everything, some had already lost animals and live stock from the previous storm. I know one family who was doing goat cheese and much of their herd drowned. There are community cleanup operations starting now.
As bad as Oahu got it, Molakai, Lanai, and Maui all looked pretty rough from above. Also some new landslides I can see in my valley.
