Hi, all, and happy Friday!
I’m at the airport and about to board my flight so this’ll have to be quick.
I wanted to let you know, first, that the Senate passed a bill last night (at 2AM!) to fund all parts of DHS except for ICE and CBP. In other words, Republicans blinked! This is great news! The bill now goes to the House, where its fate is uncertain, so please make sure you call your House representative and tell them to pass it! Then we’ll need Trump to sign it, but hopefully he will.
Second, my step-father Tom Chapin and his writing partner John Forster just dropped a “No Kings” song and video! They call it “Thoughts on Monarchy from Songwriters John Forster & Tom Chapin and their musical community.” Please watch and share! You may even see someone you know towards the end, and you’ll definitely see a couple of folk icons! Enjoy!
