Justice Neil Gorsuch, one of the court’s conservatives, argued that the First Amendment “stands as a shield against any effort to enforce orthodoxy in thought or speech in this country.”

Colorado banned efforts to enforce orthodoxy in thought and speech. The Supreme court shot down that ban on First Amendment grounds stating that the 1st amendment protects against efforts to enforce orthodoxy in thought or speech.
