Hi, all, and happy Wednesday!
It’s the night before oral arguments at the Supreme Court and the ACLU is projecting all the names of the 300,000+ people who signed their petition to save birthright citizenship on the side of a huge church in DC. It’s so gorgeous and so is our inclusive, pluralistic society. Long may i last!
I wanted to show this to you because so many of you signed the petition— I meant it when I said that the ACLU was going to take your signatures to DC with them.
The hearing is tomorrow ((today by the time most of you read this.) Let’s all keep our fingers crossed that oral arguments go the way we hope they will. And never forget how many people in this country support a vision of it that includes everyone.
It’s some comfort in these troubled times.
Talk tomorrow!
Jess
P.S. — I forgot my glasses on this trip so I wrote this half blind. Please forgive any typos. I’m squinting to see but it’s not really working.
