Details: An unnamed European official told CNN that European officials and the US president, in a conversation after Trump’s talks with the Kremlin chief in Alaska, discussed the possible provision of security guarantees for Ukraine “in the style of Article 5” as part of a potential peace agreement.

Meanwhile, the source noted that NATO would not be involved in these potential guarantees. Specific details of the proposal are unknown.

A European Pravda source familiar with the course of negotiations confirmed such a discussion and clarified that during the phone talks it was voiced as “non-NATO Article 5 security guarantees”.

This idea was proposed in the negotiations by the American side as one of the security guarantees for Ukraine, allegedly agreed with Putin in Alaska.
