Indiscriminate? It was perfectly discriminate, no one else but him died. He wasn’t just any right-winger, I have some level of sympathies for the firefighter who was killed during Trump’s attempted assassination, but none for a propagandist like Kirk.
GOOD post.
Indiscriminate is, I dunno, dropping infinite bombs on a tiny strip of land with two million people on it. Or rounding up undesirables with a faceless gestapo. Or blowing up boats of “””””””drug dealers””””””” with drone strikes. Or blowing up random people because you botched your attempt to kill the people you’re supposed negotiating peace with. Or keeping an entire race of people enslaved and brutalised for centuries, then continuing to murder and imprison and torture them for another century and a half. Or murdering countless hundreds of thousands of indigenous people. Or dropping more bombs on Vietnam than got dropped in WWII. Or dropping two nuclear bombs on civilian targets, against a defeated enemy. Or snatching random Arabs from all over the world and torturing them in black sites for bad information to lead you to other random Arabs you can snatch. Or bulldozing homeless encampments. Or interning an entire race of your citizenry in WWII. Or turning Libya into an open air slave market. Or killing millions of random civilians all around the world with sanctions because you don’t like the policies of their governments. Or poisoning your own people’s water with fracking because you have to squeeze every last drop of profit from the barren soil. Or poisoning the atmosphere of the entire world, consigning billions to suffering, now and in the future.
But nah, indiscriminate political violence is when a disgusting rich white propagandist who thought everything in the above paragraph was great, and wanted to see more, more, more!! finally gets what’s coming.
It’s even more vile to me because there was a school shooting yesterday as well. That was indiscriminate. But we have to boohoo about charlie “shootings are a sacrifice to keep 2nd amendment” kirk. He got exactly what was coming to him.
“tragic” and “indiscriminate”? Dude was a hate spewing fascist that made a living stoking the fires of violence against minorities. There’s nothing tragic or indiscriminate about his death.
very telling who the guardian’s writers consider real people
Seems pretty discriminate to me
It doesn’t know what side of the aisle you’re on or what your ideology might be, who your allies are or what your vision for the future includes. It doesn’t know what brand of media you consume or how many ardent followers you have.
Charlie Kirk, famously known for not having a political opinion or voicing support of political projects.
Political violence doesn’t know and doesn’t care about such things.
That’s… that’s literally the opposite of what political violence is.
