The argument I have heard from lurking is that many on the right don’t believe “hate speech” is a thing – opting otherwise for the idea that all speech is simply “speech”. They’re upset that Bondi is supporting the idea that “hate speech” exists.

It’s sort of like a philosophy convention where no one in it actually understands philosophy.
