World BEYOND War’s John Miksad joined with Jewish Voices for Peace in New Haven, Connecticut on the International Day of Peace for a pedaling for peace bike ride.

Bikers aged 5 to 90 filled the streets of East Rock, downtown, the Hill, and Long Wharf with Free Palestine chants, our marshals kept us safe, our “sag wagon” fed and hydrated us, our speakers inspired us, and the mainstream media even came through with better than usual coverage. And we raised funds for two great orgs doing vital work in Palestine!

WFSB reported:

A group of Palestinian supporters [they mean opponents of mass murdering Palestinians] worked to raise awareness about what is going on in Gaza and why people in Connecticut should care.

Members of Jewish Voices For Peace gathered at the ‘Pedal for Palestine’ bike tour in New Haven on Sunday.

They rode the streets from the Mill River to the Long Island Sound to bring attention to what they [and every qualified entity on Earth] call a genocide in Gaza and the West Bank.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry[‘s absurd undercount], more than 65,000 Palestinians have been killed so far.

The seven mile route included multiple shops [stops?] along the way to show people what has been lost in Palestine.

They said this included access to food, water, and education.

“What we hear in media is about all the deaths, constantly getting death counts. But really what’s being destroyed as much as that is the ability of Palestine to function as a society,” said Shelly Altman, Jewish Voices For Peace New Haven.

“What we’re looking to do is just spread the word that it’s going to be up to us and it’s going to take action. Not just thoughts and prayers. It’s going to take action and this is one of the many actions we are going to do to try to roads awareness of what’s going on and what our government is supporting,” said John Miksad from Wilton.

They also wanted the U.S. government to stop funding Israel.

“It’s got to stop. What we are doing is wrong and the United States is complicit. There’s international support to stop this slaughter,” said Ellen Rubin from New Haven [and the world’s governments being stopped in the Secutity Council by U.S. vetoes].

Israel said its ongoing military campaign in Gaza is in response to the October 7 Hamas attack where 1,200 people were killed [some of them by Israel] and 250 were taken as hostages.

Israel reported that 48 people are still in Hamas custody [where Israel carefully keeps them by slaughtering peace negotiators].

Here is the video.
