I’d be interested in hearing some theories from historians and or biographers who really know the man and his career as to just what the hell he expects to gain from all this death and destruction and brinksmanship.

Because I can’t fathom what it might be. He doesn’t have the military to handle 1 non member state. The full might of NATO will quickly beat Russia. But then nukes come into play.

Russia will be punished geopolitically/economically and shunned for generations. Even if he stopped today. I can’t figure out his endgame.

Trump is simple. Stupid even. He’s a malignant narcissist. He’s always been just rich enough to sit at the oligarch table. But he’s never been intelligent enough to truly be their peer. Now he’s living out a power fantasy.
