Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that the Ukrainian delegation will hold technical talks in the United States between late September and early October on acquiring weapons.

Details: Zelenskyy spoke to journalists about the outcome of his talks with US President Donald Trump.
Quote: “We have reached an agreement on purchasing relevant weapons from the United States through various programmes. All technical meetings, starting from late September and early October, will be conducted by the Ukrainian delegation in the United States. We have discussed and agreed on the key points with the president. We are now moving to practical implementation.”
More details: Zelenskyy described the agreement as a “mega deal for purchasing weapons from America”.
He also said that he and Trump had discussed a deal on the purchase of Ukrainian drones.
Quote: “We discussed a drone deal. Technical teams are now starting to work on this agreement. These are our drones, which the US will purchase directly.”

Earlier, after meeting Trump, Zelenskyy revealed that the US president responded favourably to his request for long-range cruise missiles that would allow Kyiv to target sites in Moscow.The Telegraph earlier reported that the Ukrainian leader asked the United States for Tomahawk missiles during a closed-door meeting with Trump in New York.After his meeting with Zelenskyy, Trump unexpectedly said he is optimistic about Ukraine’s chances of restoring control over its territory within internationally recognised borders.
