The Ukrainian Armed Forces have gathered all the necessary evidence regarding the incursion of a Hungarian reconnaissance drone into Ukrainian territory, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced on Saturday 27 September.

Details: Sybiha tweeted an image he said shows the exact route of the drone’s incursion from Hungary into Ukrainian airspace. Sybiha noted that he was releasing it “for the blind Hungarian officials”.

“Our Armed Forces have gathered all of the necessary evidence, and we are still waiting for Hungary to explain what this object did in our airspace,” said the Foreign Minister.

At a briefing on Saturday, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that a Hungarian reconnaissance drone had violated Ukraine’s territory. He said he has asked the Ukrainian military to demonstrate the drone’s flight path because the Hungarians “claim that we’re making things up”.“What a Hungarian reconnaissance drone is studying on Ukrainian territory is very important. I basically get that. And I think they’re doing some things, which are especially hazardous for themselves,” Zelenskyy said.The Ukrainian General Staff reported that a Hungarian drone twice violated Ukraine’s state border from the Hungarian side.Commenting on Zelenskyy’s remarks about the drone, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said that the Ukrainian leader “is becoming obsessed with anti-Hungarian sentiment” and “is even seeing ghosts”.In response, Sybiha tweeted, “We are starting to see a lot of things, Peter, including your government’s hypocrisy and moral degradation.”
