Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that 92 Russian drones were directed towards Poland on the night of 9-10 September, but Ukraine shot down the majority of them within its own airspace.

Details: Zelenskyy said that Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin is testing Europe’s ability to respond to his hybrid attacks and has so far demonstrated that Europeans currently lack the capacity to defend their skies against Russia’s modern drones.
Quote: “Take the example of one Polish case. Ninety-two drones were heading for Poland. We shot them all down. Nineteen reached their territory. Yes, we shot them down over Ukraine, of course. One could say they were aimed at us, but we see the direction and, as they say, the choreography of that flight. So, we believe 92 were launched. We shot them all down. Nineteen, we believe, reached Poland. Four were destroyed by the Poles.”
Details: Zelenskyy added that he would not compare the strength of the Ukrainian and Polish militaries, as “we are at war, they are not at war”.
Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine is willing to share its experience in countering Russian drones.
“We have been sending signals to certain countries… To some, we will send our people… And representatives of some countries will come to Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said.
He also listed the states already encountering unknown drones, suggesting that Russia is probing public sentiment in those nations.
Quote from Zelenskyy: “You can see Norway, Denmark. There are signals, I think, this morning, from Sweden. There is Romania, there are the Poles, and there are the Baltic states. He is checking what Europeans have. And secondly, I am sure he (Putin) is sending signals ahead of winter so that those countries very close to Ukraine may feel what is happening with society there and how ready they are to continue supporting [Ukraine].”
Background:
