Necmettin Çalışkan was born in 1973 in Daren, Malatya. He is a theologian, academic, businessman, and Member of Parliament for Hatay. He graduated from Imam-Hatip High School. He graduated with honors from Al-Azhar University’s Faculty of Theology in 1995. He completed his master’s and doctorate at Ankara University. He received the titles of assistant professor and associate professor at Hatay Mustafa Kemal University. He worked as the manager of a family company operating in the food, agriculture, industry, export, and retail chain. He served as Deputy Chairman of the Antakya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vice Dean of Hatay Mustafa Kemal University’s Faculty of Theology, Head of the Department of Fundamental Islamic Sciences, and as a faculty member. He was deemed worthy of the HASİAD “Businessman of the Year in Innovation and Entrepreneurship” award in 2012, and the TASAM “Businessman with Strategic Vision” award in 2013.
