Sadie Mees is a 24 year old Master’s student and activist living in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Her Master’s research is grounded in Feminist theory. She works at a Women’s Centre and in the Public Libraries. She was an organizing member of the Palestine solidarity encampment at her university. She was moved to join this flotilla after being horrified by lack of global governmental action to prevent Israel from carrying out their campaign of genocide. The documented tactics of the IOF using rape and starvation as a methods of warfare against women, children, and men were particularly moving. “We must refuse to stand idly by and watch the Israeli obliteration of Palestine. Their intentional targeting of the most marginalized members of our society with the most vicious kinds of cruelty possible is disturbing. It is the duty of all citizens of the world to tap into their humanity and courage and take action, for Palestine, and for all of us.”
