An Islamophobic attack on four children outside a well-known Liverpool mosque seems to have been ignored by the UK’s ‘mainstream’ media.

A statement from the Abdullah Quilliam Mosque, the first mosque established in England, describes the attack and an aftermath that has left parents forced to pick up their daughters from the mosque and students to walk in groups for their protection:

lslamophobic Incident, Liverpool Outside Abdullah Quilliam Mosque Saturday, October 4th, 2025

Yesterday, following classes at Abdullah Quilliam Mosque (Liverpool) a group of young Muslim girls were targeted in an lslamophobic attack.

A woman was armed with scissors attempting to harm the young girls as they were walking home. They returned to the mosque quickly, who reported it to the police and the woman was later arrested.

Dar Al Zahra has urged families to remain vigilant, collect their daughters directly from the mosque, and ensure students walk home in groups.

Liverpool mosque attack

A Google search for mentions of the attack in the so-called ‘MSM’ reveals no results for the weekend’s attack – only some results from last year and 2021:

A racist arson attack on a mosque in East Sussex last Friday received similarly little media attention.

Meanwhile, a synagogue and retirement home site in south Liverpool had around eight police officers and two security guards guarding its gate on Sunday for the third day in a row after an attack on a Manchester synagogue in which at least two people were shot, one fatally, by police. The government is planning to use the Manchester attack to impose new restrictions on anti-genocide protests, which had nothing to do with the attack.
