    If Trump even survives this term, can you imagine what would happen if states put him on the ballot despite the constitutional prohibitions on a 3rd term and he won the electoral college and the popular vote?

    I hate how not-unrealistic that all sounds.

    It’s just as likely that someone else will run, name Trump VP, and then resign from the presidency on day 1 or 2 or something, making Trump the president again.

      You can’t run for VP after having been president for two terms, either. It’s a legacy from back when VP wasn’t a “running mate” and instead just got awarded to the presidential candidate who got the second-most EC votes.
