There’s zero overlap in my mind between frozen and good fresh burritos, but I absolutely fuck with a frozen burrito. I love mushy textures and care more about nutrition and convenience than freshness.

I haven’t had a microwave since I moved to Germany several years ago, but every burrito (specifically burritos, not wraps) I’ve eaten out here has been worse than a standard frozen burrito in the US in my opinion. I give them a pass to a degree, because the quality of tomatoes, tomatillos, avocados, lime, and chilis (edit: how did I forget corn?) that you can get here is nowhere close to what you get in Mexico, but it’s also just bad a lot of the time. I once got one with a sauce of two parts ketchup, one part diced tomato, and one part diced onion- apparently it was salsa. The closest Mexican restaurant to me has confused caraway seed and cumin (related, but so, so different) and told me corn tortillas were only created in the 80s so US Americans could use up the solids from hfcs production.
