They know if they ship the Gabecube with the kind of pricing they would be forced to at the moment that it will just kill interest. Additionally they will probably need to bump the price at random throughout the year which will just hurt it more
I am a bit disappointed this looks like it will effect the steam frame as well though, that was what I was looking forward to.
