    If someone is trying to carjack you and you shoot them, that’s legal. If they don’t die and you shoot them again in the head, that’s murder.

    Whether or not the boat was running drugs is not relevant to this being a war crime.

      What confuses me is that our police force already has a solution for this. If the military was smart about it, they would take a page from their book and always send a solid dozen missiles in quick succession every time.

        That’s an excellent point. If you are firing in self defense, you should fire at least twice, quickly, but know that every additional bullet that’s fired makes your case for self defense more difficult. The prosecution will make every attempt to portray any additional shots as being after you should have known the threat was neutralized - because prosecutors are more interested in getting convictions than discovering the truth.
