What does bull and shit mean?
It means that they’re starting to get concerned.
Not very much yet, because they still think saying things like this will deescalate the situation. But its a good sign that the protests are at least starting to have an effect.
I don’t think they want to deescalate… there was a surprising stream of comments from conservatives critical of their response. By announcing that they’ll deescalate, they give their supporters the feeling of being heard. That’s enough for conservatives to say: “They really tried, but the rioters just kept trying to escalate!” when the next protester is murdered.
Its just another lie unless they do what they say. Count on them doing some weak thing and calling it deescalation.
