    And that’s why I don’t use hand signals.

    I use common sense when I ride my bike. Common sense, at least for me in my area, is that the roads are meant for large automobiles, not bicycles. So, I stop and wait for a good suitable gap in traffic before I cross any roads, and I avoid intersections like the plague.

    I never assume anything about people driving multi-ton vehicles, except that when the road is clear of traffic, it’s safe to cross the road. Since we don’t have proper bike lanes here ☹️, I ride on the service lanes and keep fully aware of my surroundings. And I prefer riding through the median rather than utilizing intersections designed for automobiles.

    Yeah, my riding tactics might not be considered fully proper, legal, kosher, however you wanna define it, but it’s kept me alive the whole 43 and counting years of my life.

    The physics of cars and bikes just don’t add up.

    Though it may be legal to ride on the road, and everyone should share - the law can’t bring you back.

    Separate for safety! Stay alive! Stay safe!
