I’ve been thinking a lot about where the red line should be when it comes to how much we should tolerate from our leaders before we drop everything and fight back with any available means. If you asked me 10 years ago where it should be I likely would have said a bunch of things that have already happened like attempting to overthrow the government, sending masked goons to kidnap citizens without cause, stealing public funds, pardoning people who commit crimes on their behalf, openly censoring media outlets, deploying the military against American citizens on US soil, etc. And yet all those things have come and gone without much fuss, relatively speaking.
Now, I don’t know if there is a good “one size fits all” answer to that question for all people in all places but I do know that this right here is one of those red lines for me in this time and in this place. 10 years from now I’m pretty confident we’ll look back and wish we had chosen one of those other things I mentioned instead but all we can do now is plan for the future. I say we all resolve right now that this is a firm line in the sand for us. You can have more lines (and we probably should) but at the very least this line will not be crossed without a fight. The moment this fucker gets nominated for a 3rd term we all go to DC and drag his ass out of whatever is left of the White House by force. Of all the things we’ve tolerated from this man a 3rd term cannot be one of them.
Who’s with me?

Sure, but we’re all in the back of the truck too so I’m not sure we should be cheering at the prospect of driving into the pond.

Wow, the lying stochastic terrorist uses lies and stochastic terrorism to advance his goals. Shocking.

It’s good that someone is finally doing something potentially impactful but I find it very telling that it took a direct threat to their political power to coerce major players in the DNC to do anything substantial. That perception is exactly why progressives do not trust the party. It’s clear that they are motivated much more by self preservation than they are by their stated altruistic goals.

There’s more red states than there are blue states. If getting into a tit-for-tat gerrymandering competition with Republicans is the Democrats plan then they’re going to lose that battle.
Edit: I’m not saying it shouldn’t be done, just that it’s a temporary measure at best.
That’s not all that was in the deal but even if it was that still qualifies as dumb.
