Are you actually suggesting Gazans would be better off under a Harris presidency? There is literally zero evidence to back that up. The vast majority of casualties in the genocide of Gaza occurred under Biden’s watch. Now I’m not crediting Trump with the reduction in deaths- that’s just the nature of invasions like this over time, but the fact remains. And what would Harris have done differently anyway? Israel would violate any ceasefire regardless as long as the munitions keep flowing. And she sure as fuck wouldn’t cut them off.
Yep, democrats can’t fail, they can only be failed. It wasn’t Harris’ fault that she picked the wrong side of this issue both ethically and practically. It wasn’t democratic leadership’s fault that they precluded a primary and as a result we ended up with such a weak candidate. It wasn’t Biden’s fault for not prosecuting Trump and pushing as hard as possible to ensure it was illegal for him to run and hold office. It was voters at fault, because voters are obligated to vote for democrats, rather than democrats being obligated to win votes. Up is down, water is dry, red is green.
How privileged you are to be able to vote on principle when the impact of that vote actually kills people. You killed people. You did.

It’s the exact opposite. You don’t care about Arabs and think they are beneath you, so you are fine voting for their genocide. You are privileged enough to not be affected by America’s policies, which is why you always vote for whoever the DNC puts in front of you. The policies don’t affect you.
You’re telling on yourself. The only realistic outcomes of the election were Trump winning or Harris winning. Trump winning was a guarantee that the genocide would continue, and it has. Harris was the only chance that things would evolve in a more measured way with fewer deaths and more serious pressure towards restraining Israel.
You don’t care about Arabs since you think the outcome of Trump winning was preferable and the fact that there are more Palestinian deaths as a result is just an inconvenient fact of you standing by “your principles.” Tens of thousands of Palestinians have died for your principled stand.

Different people have different ethical systems. Utilitarianism is not the only valid ethical framework. Have some respect for others and stop belittling others deeply held moral beliefs. Some view elections as outcome-driven. Some view voting as an act of personal endorsement.
Don’t be a smug asshole and pretend your values are the only valid ones. Progressives are supposed to be open minded and respectful of diversity.
For many people, voting is an endorsement. For many, it is morally wrong to vote for an evil person, even if they are the lesser evil. Voting is a personal thing, and people use different ethical calculus.
Ironically, you are literally using the same ethical systems that the Nazis did. For them, the ends justified the means. That’s how they could justify doing medical experiments on prisoners. They said that yes, people would suffer, but more people would be helped than harmed. A respect for persons ethical framework would instead say, damn the final outcome, good ends don’t justify evil means. Hell, even the Holocaust was justified based on being the lesser evil, as it in theory would prevent millennia of future racial conflict.
You have far more in common with MAGA than you think. They also justify all their cruelty based on providing the greatest good to the greatest number. Immigrants need to be kicked out, as a racially homogenous society is more peaceful and prosperous. Trans people need to be exterminated, as gender variance causes all kinds of social ills. Voting needs to be heavily restricted, as crazy people are electing the wrong candidates. Utilitarianism is a fundamentally fascist philosophy. The individual does not matter, only the greatest good for the greatest number. If murdering a million saves a billion, it’s the right thing to do.

It is likely that every Republican candidate for the rest of our lives will be a fascist. Ultimately Democratic insiders control the primary. They are after all a private club legally speaking.
